A dynamic exhibit of paintings by Darci Pacewizc and Morgan Kroos are now on view at the new Chinook Hall Gallery on one of Linn-Benton Community College's Corvallis campuses, Chinook Hall, through June 1, 2023.

Kroos and Pacewicz met in a beginner's painting class at Linn-Benton Community College and both excelled. Each artist received the art department’s Summer Materials Grant which encourages the creation of new work by providing artists with generous funding for supplies during a time that they can focus intensively on creating new work.

Both artists are excited to share their work with the community. Morgan Kroos is an art major at 博天堂官方 and Darci Pacewicz is pursuing an anthropology major at OSU. While their academic goals differ, they found plenty to relate to as they created the exhibition. Aesthetically, their work is different with Kroos building hyper-detailed compositions and Pacewizc creating bold abstractions. However, these two artists have found a strong cord of conceptual connection.

Kroos explains in her artist statement, “I grew up in developing Asia and experienced many naturally beautiful areas as well as the local spiritual beliefs connected to old jungles, forest temples, and uninhabited islands. I remain fascinated by traditional magic and mystical healing practices across the globe.”

Pacewicz holds a complimentary mindset stating, “My goal is to bring attention to single narratives and the fixed mindsets of Western culture in hopes of widening the aperture for more holistic frameworks to be recognized and discovered. I yearn for more empathetic connections and understanding between us.”

Their exhibition will remain on view now until June of this academic year.
