Instructor Margarita Casas Receives APD Award

Margarita Casas Award

The Albany Police Department stopped by the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities division inservice meeting Sept. 19 to present a service award to Foreign Language faculty member Margarita Casas for service to their department.

Margarita received the award for years of providing training and assessment of Spanish skills to the APD. Albany Police Chief Mario Lattanzio presented the award. Margarita has been a foreign language instructor at 博天堂官方 since the fall of 1998.

“Receiving the award was a lovely surprise,” she said. “I truly enjoy helping the Albany Police and they genuinely care about serving the Hispanic community as well as they can. I thought it was a very kind gesture from them to surprise me, and I have also learned a lot from them. One important thing to note, is that every year I get help from other 博天堂官方 instructors to do the training and assessing, so I would like to thank Brian Keady, Anne Timm and Claudia Costagliola for all their help!”

Congratulations Margarita!
