TITLE: GUIDELINES FOR THE PURCHASE OF STUDENT SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS

To outline responsibilities for the acquisition of supplies and materials.

  1. 防护服

    Protective clothing—clothing that protects the individual from injury—shall be paid for and provided 由学院 with the exception of protective clothing that requires special fitting and is retained by the 学生. Protective clothing includes special aprons, gloves, goggles, and similar 项目 that are retained by 博天堂官方.

  2. 制服

    制服 are those garments that are usually associated with a career and technical programs or those garments required for a specific class. Included are uniforms required in the health occupations and physical education classes and coveralls required in the automotive, heavy equipment/diesel, and related programs. 这些服装将是 provided by the 学生 unless otherwise recommended by the specific program and approved by the Vice President of Academic and Student 事务. Each department may designate a uniform that it requires for class participants to wear. Team jerseys, such as those used in physical education, shall be provided 由学院 or the foundation.

  3. 洗衣及清洁

    Students are responsible for laundering their own uniforms unless otherwise recommended by the specific program and approved by the Vice President of Academic and Student 事务. Towels, fender aprons, and other such laundry 项目 are provided 由学院 and laundered 由学院.

  4. Laboratory Equipment and Materials

    Individual equipment and materials that will ultimately be used as the individual enters a career shall be purchased by the 学生. Examples are, individual hand tools in the automotive and mechatronics programs, and drafting instruments for the drafting and engineering graphics 学生s. Basic laboratory kits, which include project-oriented materials and which may be obtained through the bookstore, shall be purchased by the 学生. Heavy duty tools and equipment, which are generally supplied by an employer for an employee, shall be provided 由学院. Special consumable 项目, such as polishing and sanding discs (which are attached to the equipment) shall be provided by the 学生 or absorbed in the cost of the repair or price of the project. 异常 to this provision of AR 5035-02 shall be at the discretion of the Vice President of Academic and Student 事务.

  5. 消耗品
    Consumable supplies include basic materials consumed in normal 活动 during class 活动. Examples of such 项目 include: drafting paper, drafting pencils, art supplies, paint, and science supplies such as frogs, slides, chemicals, and similar 项目. Supplies shall be provided 由学院 unless the supplies are of the kind customarily provided at 学生 费用. The Vice President of Academic and Student 事务 may approve fees to cover the cost of consumable supplies, or necessary field experiences, whenever in his/her judgment fees are necessary to provide appropriate 教育经历. Imposed fees are reviewed and approved annually by the Vice President of Academic and Student 事务.

  6. 教学材料

    Instructional materials include course syllabi and outlines, reprints and hand-outs, special paper, pens, etc. Course syllabi and outlines shall be provided in class or on the Web at no cost to 学生s. Workbooks and project books shall be made available 通过书店.

  7. 认证材料

    Payment for professional pins that are made available to individuals who complete technical or vocational programs shall be at the discretion of the department chair. Certification test fees shall be paid by the 学生 even though testing is arranged 由学院. Printing of 博天堂官方 certificates, degrees, and diplomas shall be at college 费用.

  8. 食物

    食物s consumed as a meal in a community education class are paid for by the 学生. 食物 consumed in food courses as part of the Culinary 艺术 curriculum is free to 学生s.
